Flight School

Wednesday this week was Family Day. We got to look at a lot of helicopters and sit in the Black Hawk. It was a lot of fun to see what Jake was doing all day. Here are some pics of Family Day.

In the Black Hawk.

James NOT being a good boy.

And here are some pics from the actual Graduation on Thursday.

Jake was doing a balancing act, for sure!

Jake with his family.

And Jake with his very proud parents.

It has been a VERY eventful week. Having Jake's parents in town has been wonderful. James absolutely just adores his grandpa. Jake and his father have gone golfing and are just spending quality time together. Anywho... this is another chapter of our military journey that will come to a close soon. But now I have a PILOT as a husband. HA! AWESOME!!

Really??

We have had QUITE the past few days. Lets start with Sunday...

Sunday - church was going fine. My lesson went ok, Sam was ok, and James was happy in Nursery. Halfway thru Primary, Jake comes in with both the kids, gives me Sam, and says "James got kicked out of Nursery". WHAT! MY kid got kicked out of NURSERY? Apparently, he got kicked out for kicking and hitting. Not unusual, just normally doesn't do it at church! But a girl who was in there said he did it because another kid bit him. Ok.. so I guess he was defending himself. I dont really know if I should get MAD at that.

Monday - we had our friends, the Holbrooks, over because they were leaving Fort Rucker. The mom, Chelsey, turned around and knocked James over (he doesnt have the BEST balance). So he accidently hit the brick wall and scraped his nose and knee. He was fine after some love.

Tuesday - didnt fall asleep during his nap time. And after almost 2 hours, I go in there... his hands are black. What is it? He had POOPED! And he put his HANDS in it! There was a small spot on his upper lip, on his knee, and all over BOTH hands! ARG! Really??? So we washed HIM and EVERYTHING in his bed!

Anywho... we have had fun with the kids lately. I love having Jake home more and doing things with him. James is talking more, better, and putting words together. Sam is trying hard to sit up alone and roll over. He also coo's ALL the time. Just non stop! I am trying to figure out what I can do to get ready for Korea. But thats about it. Enjoy the post!

flight school? COMPLETE

FINALLY.. jake finished flight school! that does NOT mean we are done with ft rucker though. he still has a short school to complete in april. no biggy. we will be out of here in may. but jake did great. i am beyond proud of him and everything that he has accomplished while here. he is an amazing pilot and is super smart. he knows everything that he needs to and this is what he wants! we will be heading to NV and UT in may and will leave for Korea in june. hopefully, we will be able to go at the same time. who knows...

james has a cold right now. alabama weather does NOT go well with him. he gets sick here all the time. cant wait to see what happens overseas. but he loves to color and he is starting to figure out more shapes, colors, words, and FOOD.

sam is huge. hahaha. he grabs for things, found his feet, coo's all the time, and is a happy baby. now i gotta figure out how to get him sleeping thru the night!

i am well.. tired, stressed, and just going day by day. but that is about it. enjoy the pics.

yay

finally getting james to have more of a calcium intake. well, anything is better than what he has had the past month or so - which is NONE. every since we took away the bottle, he wont drink milk. the nutritionist said as long as he gets calcium, then he doesnt necessarily need milk. so we found GoGurts which is just yogurt in a tube/popsicle form. put that in the freezer and james thinks he is getting SHERBET ICE CREAM! :-) so everyone is happy. YAY....

and this is just a cute pic of sam. :-)

so busy

lets try to play catch up, shall we?

this is james' new suit for church. he has never owned one, so we figured he should have a white shirt and tie.

james LOVES to be in the kitchen or play with his playkitchen. this is the apron that goes to HIS kitchen. he wouldnt let me take it off that night for bed. he is going to be just like jake - a cook!

sam, oh sam. look at this belly! so adorable, yet so big! 17 lbs!!! what a chub.

who doesnt love a pic of a baby bum?!?! we have to put lotion on him ALL the time. this time, we happen to be putting lotion on his back and decided to pull down the diaper to get it lower. hahaha.. sadly, his bum is dry too, so we have to put the lotion ON his bum.

and i think sam is already being a bully! hahah, we put him on james because james wanted a hug. and this is what he got!

things are going ok. jake started night flying today. james has the chicken pox (dont even get me started on THAT). and sam has to be growing because he is hungry ALL the time. i am trying to put together a recipe book for jake and i with OUR favorite recipes! it will be great. thats really about all i am doing since i am stuck in the house this week with chicken pox boy. he better not give it to sam!

bed time

ok, so last night, i put james to bed because jake was busy doing homework. no problem. i prepared to hear him cry for awhile. but surprisingly, he never cried. so about an hour later, i walked in, and this is what i found...

the light was off (my flash is REALLY bright). if you cant tell, james is under his blankets... but the funny part is the chalk board. that is suppose to be on the other side of the room! he had gotten out of bed, pulled his chalkboard over to his bed, got back into bed, played on the chalkboard, and when he was tired, he fell asleep. it was pretty cute. how do you get mad at a kid for being quiet and falling asleep?? :-)

where to next??

for those of you who only look at our blog and are not a friend on facebook for some reason or another - we have found out where we are going to be stationed after jake is done with flight school in march...

korea!

YA! we were shocked too. there are a lot of factors in with this decision and there are lots of things for jake and i to talk about. but that is the plan for now. i guess its a default to a one year station for jake to go and for me and the boys to stay behind. but we could go with him and stay for 2 years. we just dont know what is BEST for us right now. so - i will let you know as soon as we do!
