just a day!

my goodness... do you ever just have one of those days where everything happened that never does, it wasnt really "bad" but it wasnt the best day ever? just a lil off? ya.. it was like that yesterday.

lets start with each person in the family and how THEIR day went...

sam - he slept most of the day, ate a ton, but had a GREAT time hanging out at Megan's house.

james - didnt take a nap, apparently wrote on the wall with a crayon while supposedly "sleeping", played hard with his friends Parker, Dallin, and Emme, got to play outside in the water, ate a ton, fell asleep on the way home (ya, 6pm!), got into a LOT of trouble because he wrote on the wall, slept all night tho.

jake - didnt get to do his check ride, has a stick buddy who is just odd, left his phone at home (never does that), got nothing to eat all day, tore his gloves on the black hawk, fell asleep at like 9pm!, couldnt eat dinner til home teacher left (who showed up unannounced).

steph - took james to dr, didnt get to nap, was so bored so went to a friends house, hung out there, got called to pick up a friends kid from the bus stop, car wouldnt start, had to take friends car to get other kid, wasnt able to pick up kid from bus stop, had to get a new battery, wasnt able to be home to make dinner, spent entire at Megan's house, but did get to sleep before 10!

see? nothing bad, but the WIERDEST things. battery died, james didnt nap, wrote on the wall for the 1st time, wasnt able to help friend by getting kid from bus... just everything fell apart. but i have a new battery, was finally able to pick up kid from bus, and Megan and Kyle saved the day for me!!! thanks guys! i couldnt have made it thru yesterday without you!

as to try and make this post not longer than it has to be, i will briefly tell you what is going on in each ADORABLE pic.. :-)

this is the most amazing pic of james we have taken in awhile!


and this is james trying to hang out in sam's bouncer. james is still only 25lbs, so its no biggy that he is in there.

sam got a bath in the tub for the first time. we have been doing the sink, but he is a TAD big!


jake thought it would be cool to teach sam NOW the importance of holding on to the remote so mommy cant touch it.


and this is a typical day for sam to hang out on daddy. you can see how big he is getting compared to jake.


and that is about what is going on here nowadays. :-)

2 or jealous??

is it because he is two or because he is jealous??? that is what i am trying to figure out.

james keeps getting out of his bed at night. i think i have mentioned this before, but now its EVERY night. and he brings both his blankets (he calls them "buggies") and curls up by the door. we tried giving him more bottle, we tried cuddling, we tried talking to him... nothing makes him STAY in bed. but he loves his brother. he loves to kiss him and hug him and have us lay them down together. so i dont understand. why act all crazy if you LOVE your brother??

on top of that, he isnt eating very well again. i cant get him to eat much of anything anymore. unless its a hamburger? but even the waffles he loves, he eats 3 bites and stops. i just wish he was PERFECT and that this situation was PERFECT and that i could get a nap! :/

dentist

alright, now that you got to see the cute pic, here is my story...

we took james to his first dental appt last week. as we were leaving, they asked if i wanted to come in later that week and bring james to show him its not a big deal. i did, and he did ok. at my appt, they saw that one of my fillings was chipping, so i needed to make a return appt. that brings us to today. jake was at school, so i had to bring both the boys with me. got there and of course they were behind. just before they called me back, my friend Cristy popped in for her appt. chatted with her and she offered her ipod touch for james to watch a movie while i was in my appt. WHAT A SWEETIE! so, i go into the room, get james situated with Madagascar and i start my appt. then, james was being a terd and didnt want to watch the movie anymore. one of the dental assistants came in and took him to the toy box and played with him (after asking me if it was ok first) while i did my appt. as i left, i was suppose to pay the difference in what the insurance wouldnt cover ($15, not biggy), but i didnt have my wallet with me. the lady told me not to worry about it and to just pay sometime soon (their policy is pay at time of service, so that was a big deal i thought). so, i guess the moral of my story is, the people at my dentist office are BEYOND sweet and its so wonderful to know that you have friends around.

james

so we took james to his 2yr ck up today. he is in the 80% for his height, but only 19% for his weight. his weight is actually equal to what i have lost since i had the baby last week. (p.s. i got into my regular jeans today. button was a lil tight, but they looked good). and so we need to fatten him up! dr wants him to see a nutritionist to give us ideas and things to get him CHUBBY! :-)

what a good brother

well, goodness. its been a week. life moves pretty fast when you are focusing on ONE lil guy... but even MORE fast when you have TWO. james is trying SO hard to be a great older brother. you can see in this pic that he is figuring out how to use the carseat.



he loves to put things together to begin with, but since this is for brother, he is always trying to see how it works. james kisses on samuel and tries to hold him ALL the time. its pretty cute. he is getting better at not getting out of his bed at night and naps. i think since things have calmed down a lil, he is getting use to it.

i am doing well. i am getting up and down WAY better. i pretty much only take about one pain pill a day. just every now and again, you get a lil OUCH pain. i also havent changed ANY diaper in a whole week. that has been nice. but sad at the same time because i have no idea what sam's lil bum looks like. i cant really bend that far to do it, so my fam has been taking care of all that. and daddy is doing well. he is trying to be the best daddy to BOTH the boys AND to me. so he has lots on his plate. AND pretty soon he has to get back in the groove of studying.

anyways.. lil sis left today. so its just gramma, me and daddy watching the boys. gramma is pretty much dealing with james at night for us and helping me with whatever i need throughout the day. sooo.. ANYWHO... tis all for now. normally, i would have thousands of pics, but as all you who have more than one child know, you never have as many since you are so busy just trying to keep up, let alone take a pic!! haha.. i will try harder.

Its about time!!!

Well this week has been a real big week for the Fritz clan. yesterday Jake had his aircraft selection and he took the blackhawk, he could not be happier about the subject. There are a few people that are really upset but we are the fortunate ones who at this point are really excited. Which leads us into today. We came to the hospital at 0500 and had Samuel Jakob Fritz at 0718 he is 8lbs 1.3oz and 21 inches long. he is gorgeous he looks a lot like his older brother James except for his RED hair, yup thats right red hair.

FINALLY

no, this has nothing to do with jake and school... it IS about our lives tho...



this is the jordan river temple. this is where it will finally be done. jake and i talked with the bishop today and got the "ok" to get sealed together and to our boys!! of course we still need to talk to the stk pres, but that should be done end of november. then, when we are visiting family up in south jordan for christmas, we will get sealed. awesome right?? we are pretty stoked about it. just another activity to put on our TO DO LIST for the holidays!! hahahaha

are we done yet?

well, Primary for jake is OVER. finally! he did his last check ride today and did a great job. now we can focus on BABY for next week. kinda. jake still has to do his last PT test and select his aircraft next week, but that doesnt require studying.

tomorrow is james' birthday. he is 2!! can you believe that? my goodness. i have a TWO YEAR OLD! weird. we are just going to do cake and ice cream at the house. whoever wants to come can come, but no party.

sunday we teach our last lesson in church for a few weeks. take a break from that and recover from surgery. and then wednesday, my family comes into town to take care of things while jake and i are focusing on Sam. la de da.. what else. not too much besides baby birth. just gettin stuff ready and relaxing.

dont you LOVE long posts? well, i have some adorable pics that i have to share to catch you up on everything... eventhough my last post caught you up a lot!

these are the girls who came to my baby shower - minus the host who took the pic. crista and lori did an AWESOME job and i cant thank them enough for doing this for me. and to the girls who came, i cant thank enough either! they were awesome and were full of love!!

ok, this is me and james after my shower. i came home and jake had a present for me too! so he gave it to james to give to me. it was adorable. james is learning so fast how to bring stuff to us and carry things instead of just dropping it. but you can also see how BIG my belly is!

james likes to put on daddys clothes, so i put jakes jammies on him. it was flippin cute so we HAD to get a pic.

the other day, while i was in the shower, james decided to grab a brand new roll of toilet paper and unroll it. EVERYWHERE. i dont understand why he does what he does.

james got his new shoes and pants (like i blogged earlier) and we had to get a pic of him showing them off.

give james an oreo and this is what happens. he really is starting to like them. he eats them kinda slow, but that is ok. he got it everywhere but actually let me take a pic which was odd.

gettin there...

i have just over two weeks left of being PREGGERS. its so nice, yet so sad. i am so uncomfy that i am just ready for it all to happen... as long as jake is DONE with primary though. HA!

james is adorable. he got new shoes and jeans today. he didnt own any pants for this fall, so we had to get him just a couple pairs. and i bought a white long sleeved shirt so he can still wear his short sleeves ones, just throw this long sleeve underneath.. :-)

YAY! today was the first day that james and i had to wear JACKETS to go outside and run errands! it was awesome and i loved it! granted i cant fit into my CUTE jackets, but that is ok. i dont really need them to zip up right now. and james only has ONE jacket. and again, that is ok because he is a kid and doesnt care.

oh well... just thought i would write and tell everyone that things are good, i am huge, and jake is almost done with this phase of school! YIPPY for us! :-)

dont you hate when...

first off... i hate eraser shavings! at the table/desk where we have the computer, my husband does his homework. he has to draw on maps and then erase everything and i HATE having the shavings everywhere...

but anywho.. i was going to say, i hate when you have a bad dream about your kid. then you wake up at 2:30am and you want to wake them just to make sure they are ok!! last night, i had this dream that my mom and i were driving with james and we had to drop her off. so she slowed down and she let james get out of the car. when we drove away, i realized what happened (why it took that long to realize, i dont know, its a dream) and i made her turn around. james was running into the busy street we were on, tripped, and pushed his tooth back up into his gums. i have NO idea where this dream came from, but i was so sad and all i wanted to do was hold james and make sure he knew how much i loved him.

on the other hand.. he is buggin the crap out of me. he is in this phase (aka TWO YEARS OLD) where no matter WHAT i do to try and punish him or teach him right and wrong, he laughs. he plays with the blinds, so i smack his hand (not hard, come on) and he laughs! he opens the entertainment center and plays with the electronics, so i say NO and smack his hand - he laughs. EVERYTHING - he laughs!!! yesterday was just HORRIBLE. i mean he threw his truck at me, he pulled my hair, he played with EVERYTHING he wasnt suppose to, just on and on and on and NOTHING stopped him. sigh. i dont know about this whole "two year old" crap!!

i was getting dinner ready. i got into a drawer to get oven mitts. closed the drawer. james opened it up and got out his own over mitts. i opened the oven (while james was a good distance away and he wont touch it because its "hot") and pulled out dinner. put my oven mitts away, james did the same. then i walked over to the cabinet, got out the plates, and looked down at james. he was standing in the middle of the kitchen, arms folded, head bowed, and mumbling. MY KID WAS PRAYING! when he was finished, he looked up, smiled, and gave me a hug. it was the dang sweetest, cutest, most adorable thing i have ever seen.

and we exchanged our bed again. the other one was just too - i dont know - not right. so we finally got the new one yesterday. it was like sleeping on a piece of WOOD! it was horrible. jake and i BOTH almost got up in the middle of the night and went to sleepon the COUCH! so, i get to deal with trying to get our old bed back today. ARG. i hate that when you try out the mattress in the store, you fall in love. but when it gets delivered, you HATE it and its NOTHING like what you thought. my back hurts sooo bad!

the reason...

THIS is the reason why i havent seen my husband all week.



he has been "off" since tuesday. have i seen him? NO. and that is the reason. each one of those pages is a map. there are THIRTY of them. you can see that when laid out, it takes up our ENTIRE living area. he has to cut the margins, get out all the folds, REfold them, highlight, trace circles, draw, etc etc etc. its rediculous! but he is almost done! hopefully, we will be able to see daddy this weekend. :-)

just a playful day

well hello again. its been a couple weeks since i updated, so i thought i would throw in some pics and show you what has been going on...

so we have this bin of toys that we pull out whenever people come over. its stuff we dont mind if it gets ruined. once in awhile, james likes to pull it out himself. he usually ends up dumping everything all over his floor. and this time, he decided to get in.

i just love this pic because he looks SO big in it. we measured him the other day and got 33". that is still tall, for what we think. but this pic just does something to the angle that makes him HUGE.

i just love the look of "huh?" on his face. every now and again, you can get a pic of him just confused out of his mind. this was one of those times.

what a sweetie. he was just walking up and down the hall, smiling.

i tried to get a cute pic with him, but he kept tilting his head alllllllll the way to the side, so i tried.

Labor Day Wknd

i know you are ALL so interested in what the Fritz Family did for Labor Day wknd. haha. ok, maybe you arent, but here is the run down of what we did.

friday - jake got out of class because of the ultrasound (see previous post) and we got to spend the whole evening together having a good time.

saturday - woke up around 8am, got ready for the beach, left around 9am, got to Eglin Beach, FL in about 3 hours (we stopped a LOT on the way down), and had a BLAST with our friends the Edwards. here are the pics from there...

i just love this smile. besides him being so cute, when he gets his lil tongue stickin out, it just cracks me up.

when james goes outside, he sees that mommy and daddy wear their sunglasses, so he is ok with wearing his. especially when we go to the beach, he wears them WITH his hat. i dont mind in the least since he needs to be protected. his hat covered the majority of his face, but he wanted it on the whole time.

so, he loved playing with Sarah and Laney in the sand. since i respect Sarah and didnt want to put a pic of her chest on her (your welcome, girl) i figured i would put THIS pic of him playing with her. see, Sarah would pack a shape with sand, flip it over, and let james smash it. he loved this and they played for a long time.

then after smashing things with Sarah, he went and played with daddy and Bill. they dug a hole and put james in it. we only bury him up to his waist since we dont want anything bizarre to happen to hurt him. so he got buried and continued to play. he didnt mind because i think the hole kinda made him a chair to sit in and play with the bucket he had.

so that was the beach. we all had an amazing time!!! after that, we went shopping, ate, and headed home. we got home about 10p!! so we were pretty tired. james did awesome the whole day and passed OUT when he got home.

sunday - went to church, came home, and hung out with the family more.

monday - we went to the pool here on post with the Edwards. it was fun, but james woke up early and was cranky.. oh well..

all in all, we had a great time spending the entire weekend with daddy not having to work! james loved it.

32wks, 4D ultrasound

here he is. baby #2. he looks just like james did, so it was a little freaky for us to see him right now in my belly. jake got to go with me and was excited. james was with us and he was happy to see lil bro.

here is baby's feet. as you can see, well maybe you cant, but you should see that they are crossed. just like james was.

everything looks good for baby. he is measuring about 4lbs 7oz. he definitely looks like his brother which is awesome. it just sucks because we have to make sure to label all pics so we dont get them confused. anyways.. things are well..

ahhh

so, my oh my. what has been going on with us? well, jake finished his academic part in instruments this week. so another part down in the flight school. james is testing my patience as usual. and i am still growing. ha!
this is an adorable pic of jake and james. they watch helicopter videos together on youtube all the time. its almost soothing for james. but he does get excited when he sees black hawks. i dont know if you can see the actual helicopter on the screen or not.

we went to a birthday party for some friends of ours at the fun factory in enterprise. its an interesting place where children roam free. this is an area where james likes to play because its for toddlers, so no big kids are really ever in there. as you can see, he loves to scream.

and this area is where you can shoot foam balls at people. this lil contraption that james likes is a ball shooter. you push the top button to turn it on and you put balls in the bottom hole. it sucks it up and shoots out the top. nothing too fancy, but he sure does like it.

he had a great time at the fun factory with his friends. but mostly, he just wore us out. jake had to literally run after him a few times and that made him tired, too. oh well.. besides the random friend hang outs, nothing too exciting is happening over here just yet.

oh my...

oh my goodness.. the joys of being a mom. i look at this pic and i just melt. but then i think about what it took to get there and i wanna pull my hair out. these are my thoughts for today. if you dont care to read it all, i wont be offended. lol



this week, jake and i decided to try and get james OFF the bottle. he never used a pacifier too much and he never sucked his thumbs. he did suck his fingers when he would teeth, but that passed a long time ago. james is doing pretty good with using his sippy cup for juice. i just leave it out and he drinks it whenever he wants. but there are times when he wants his bottle. he usually gets one in the morning, one before nap, one after nap, maybe one in between that and bed, then one at bed. ya, it doesnt seem like a lot, but it IS. i tried today to get him to go without it, didnt work. i know its only noon, but i caved for naptime. really? what is the big deal if my kid likes to drink a bottle before bed? fill that lil tummy and get him off to dreamland, man!!! some people stop their bottles at like 15 months! thats nuts! bless your heart, moms. but i just cant seem to do it. i dont know what else to do. my theory right now is to slow the number of bottles and then eventually get rid of them. like stop the ones AFTER he wakes up and ONLY give it to him when he GOES to bed? that doesnt seem TOO bad. what do you think?

my other mind conversation with myself is the topic of his speech. james doesnt talk as much as the other kids his age. but the only ones i can "compare" him to are GIRLS. he doesnt really hang with any BOYS. so, of COURSE they are going to be ahead because we all know that GIRLS talk a lot and are quick learners. :-) he can say about 20 words, sign about 10, understands about 8, and knows about 8 body parts. that aint bad.... so i thought. i looked at the babycenter website and he is suppose to know 50-70 words! AND be able to put two words together!! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?! my kid is just learning to say THANK YOU. that is the only TWO WORDS he has ever put together. it just makes me feel like i am a bad mommy sometimes when he is not up to these "standards" and when i take him to the dr, they are just like "whatever" which doesnt make me feel ANY better because then i think THEY just dont care about MY kid! arg... being a mom is stressful. he is such a happy kid, plays ALL day, is eating ok (that needs work, i know), and i just love him so much. i figure i can do more, but its so hard to get his attention when he is so wrapped up in his play. they only times he is still is when he is sleeping or watching Mickey Mouse. sigh. i just like to think what my mom tells me - "he wont go to kindergarten with a bottle and he will talk just fine". is it true?

30.2 wks!

ok, so you all know how hard it is to take pics of yourself. ESPECIALLY if you are trying to get a certain area. well, i tried to take some pics of my belly and this is what i came up with.

this is a straight on shot. you can see that a person really cant tell too much that i am pregnant if seen from this angle.

this one i tried to get a side shot from the mirror instead of having the camera so close to me.

and alas, this is the pic that i usually take. its horrible and you cant really see the contrast between my belly and the rest of me.

love the oldies

as i wrote just before this, i have been taking a lot of pics with my phone. i found that i didnt download them to the computer, so that is why these pics are about 2 months old and i am just now putting them up...

this is the typical look of james when he wakes up. he has to be wrapped in his blanket and then carried around. he also has to have his hands wrapped as he drinks his bottle so it doesnt get his hands too cold, i am assuming.

this is his FAVORITE garbage. he takes out the liner, then drags the garbage tin everywhere and putting anything in it. if we take it away, he gets SOO mad. but this time, i put it over his head and he thought it was HILARIOUS!

yup, gotta have BOTH fingers in the nose. i dont know why kids do it. he just figures out every now and again that he can get him fingers in there and does it. nothing ever comes OUT of his nose with the fingers, just sticks them in and laughs.

ya, when he wakes up, and after he drinks his bottle, i try to get him to eat SOMETHING. so i put him in his highchair and try to get him some food. sometimes, he has to have that blanket around him, so i decided to put it around his head. it was pretty cute. he was playing with one of the cabinet locks this day. but as long as he has that blanket, nothing else matters.
